I personally think that the latest addition to the Record Breakin Music family, Columbia Nights, was taking a pretty large risk by covering Little Dragons’ Stormy Weather. At least that is what I thought prior to listening to their soulful of the track. But I have to admit, they pulled it of. Their “Stormy Weather” sounds warm and enticing instead of melancholy. Despite the fact that it’s almost impossible to get anywhere near Yukimi Nagano’s very unique voice … Columbia Nights managed to make “Stormy Weather” their own.

Columbia Nights is a DC Based trio comprised of John E. Daise and Hayling Price on production and vocalist Sari Abdul-Malik. Their sounds represent a synthesis of the analog and the digital, the bright and the dark, the warm and the wintry.

Their upcoming debut project is the culmination of over two years of listening, writing, composing, and recording between three friends together on one special journey.
