Still buzzin … just got home from North Sea Jazz festival 2012 and even though this year I had only one day, it’s already the best day in 2012!!

I got to see a lot of great performances but the most impressive one is hands down Janelle Monae’s. The funny thing is that I saw most of her show on a big screen because I was strategically in front row for the upcoming D’Angelo performance. But as I am typing this post I am watching parts of Janelle’s North Sea Jazz performance on television and I have never been more sorry … because even though D’Angelo did fine … Janelle actually killed it!!

I have been a hardcore Janelle fan since 2008 and that is way before I even started blogging. Eventually I did a lot of posts on the Strange Fruit Musicblog and the first Janelle post I ever did is still one of the best read posts on the blog.

It seems the time has come to keep a tight watch on this lady, cause today she introduced fans to a new track which might mean the third album is on its way. The track is called “Electric Lady” and it’s so damnn catchy I can’t seem to get it out of my head. The thing is that it’s so new I can’t find a decent audio stream anywhere on the net.
