I don’t know if you knew and if you did you probably have a ticket by now. But here is the last minute reminder of something I feel true music loverz should not miss out on. If by any chance you happen to be in the vicinity of Bird in Rotterdam on the 18th of May than I suggest you step by and recharge yourself with whatever hip hop/jazz drummer, dj, music producer and at times even rapper Karriem Riggins is hooking us up with.

His first album “Alone Together” might have been released in 2012 but don’t get it twisted cause Mr. Riggins has been on the music scene for a lot longer. Since this is supposed to be an enticement, as a rule I’d like to keep it short. Problem is however that this man’s musical resume contains everything from recording with Donald Byrd and Roy Hardgrove to producing for the likes of J Dilla, Common, Dwele and Erykah Badu. And yes the aforementioned is the short version.

Now I could just hook you up with the soundcloud streams to my personal Karriem Riggins favorites like Moogy Foog it and Summer Madness but frankly this would not do the man justice.

I think there  is not much left to say about this awesome collab … simply because I did all of that in my last post. Not gonna lie … at the timeI am typing this it is freaking early and I ain’t even had my morning coffee yet. That pretty much should tell you that a track with this much hotnesssssss comes with equally hot visuals … Enjoy!!

Hell yeah!!! Mrs. Monae and Badu are killing this one (dûh!!). For days Janelle Monae has been teasing me, the fan … with the fact that this was going to hit the net. Well, the track has only been available for stream for a couple of hours and I still feel late reporting on this one. I honestly had no idea what to expect … but naturally I am not surprised about all of this musical and lyrical FUNKINESS!!

In true Noggy fashion this joint will not be over analyzed … the only thing that I think should happen, it’s that y’all should press play and get down to this. Cause it’s like Mrs. Badu says  … THE BOOTY DON’T LIE !!!

I don’t think you have to be a hardcore electronic music fan to be familiar with French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter a.k.a Daft Punk. Cause who is not familiar with Daft Punk’s “Around the World”!!

The electronic magicians have managed to release albums that go either gold or 3x platinum which I believe is quite an accomplishment since it’s electronic music we are talking about. Don’t get me wrong there is a very complex process behind electronic music for some musicians but this is not true for all electro musicians.  All I know is that after watching the Creators Project Collaborators series, which you will be able to watch below, I have a new found respect for this French duo’s creative process.

Daft Punk will be dropping a new album on the 17th of May and I am truly excited about this one. If you don’t count their music score for Disney’s Tron Legacy, they have not released an album since 2005.  The coolest thing about their latest project  ”Random Access Memories”  is that they are actually going back in time, to hit us up with something I feel will sound very next level. Even though I did watch the first  Creative Projects collaborators video I was very entertained but not sparked to dig deeper until the following Coachella teaser hit the net …

Than it suddenly hit me that something big was afloat and it was time to pay close attention. The cool thing about the Collaborators series is that you not only get a peek into the complex process that goes into making a Daft Punk album (and why they are such a big success), but you get a new found respect for the collaborators as well. For instance my knowledge of Giorgio Moroder’s legacy does not stretch beyond his hit single “Electric Dreams” (yes I grew up in the 80′s). Kinda liked the track, but  at the time I truly did not get what the big fuss was all about and well now I know … he is the man behind Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love“…

The reason I can tell this is going to be big, is the way all the collaborators refer to working with Daft Punk. It seems to be a life changing experience and the duo does seem to have an exceptional approach to their music. Considering the collaborators are a couple of years their senior and have been in the business way longer than Daft Punk … that is saying an awful lot.

If you have already cruised the blog … you know that I am the cheerleader for innovation in music, art and everything else that is meant to push us forward. But if you are looking for things that should always remain the same and take you back to a time when everything was so simple … Charles Bradley is your man.

I was fortunate enough to hear and see Charles live, way back when he was warming up the crowd so Lee Fields could come out and do his thang. Even though that must have been no more than 3 or 4 years ago, it actually sounds like ancient history now. It was quite apparent back than that Charles Bradley was meant to be a headliner and that he was not supposed to stay the supporting act forever.

Well it’s 2013 and he has got two albums and at least one amazing North Sea Jazz performance under his belt. His most impressive endeavor to date  however is the Charles Bradley Documentary “Soul of America” . I am so humbled by the Charles Bradley I got to see in that documentary. This man is definitely in it for the music and besides remarkable talent, Charles Bradley obviously has the most wonderful spirit. He can’t help but give you, the fan, everything he’s got. He might be a late bloomer but if you ever get to witness him sing, he’ll make sure you will never forget about him.

His latest album “Victim Of Love” is available on  iTunes and it’s of course filled with brand new old soul songs!!

Hell yeah … get ready for a bad ass electronic weekend fix!! If you happen to be a frequent visitor just the mere fact that Chet Faker and Ta-Ku are mentioned in one sentence, should be enough to alarm you that something sweet is about to caress your ears… that is until the beat makes a very heavy drop. After the drop even more dopeness is unleashed … and it keeps getting better and better …

I might have never posted anything Flume before but take it from me there is a lot more hot stuff from wherever this joint came from. Guess a triple thank U is in order for all the aforementioned geniuses.

Anyways enough of that, just get to streaming …

I don’t think any Frank Ocean track of his “Channel Orange” album needs much promoting, but I guess it’s just nice to see his face pop up once in a while. Rumor has it that a video for his single “Forrest Gump” is in the works. For now we are going to have to settle for a video for “Lost” consisting of predominantly very entertaining “a day in the life of” kinda footage …

Okay this is without a doubt off tha freakin heezy!! Even though I have to work tomorrow for some reason it feels like my weekend started early.

There is just a few up and coming beatmakers and DJ’s I am into lately and Kaytranada happens to be on my list of favorites. He’s been dropping these insane beats and mixes off late and let’s just say … I have been streaming whatever he’s been unleashing on his soundcloud. But even though I consider myself to be  in tha know, I honestly was not ready for this much dopeness!!

I haven’t been much of “Party Girl” lately but I am certain about one thing … there will come a day I will see Kaytranada doing his thing LIVE!! Cause if he can generate this much energy just coming out of my computer, I sure as hell need to feel what he is able to establish in real life.

Anyways below you’ll be able to stream everything that got me so worked up and of course you’ll want to download afterwards. I have a feeling I am not the only one going nuts and just like me everybody wants to know which track is which.
